Inside the Garden Gate…

Hello, I’m Ruby Wheeler and I’m an avid gardener. I live in downtown Charleston, South Carolina, where gardening is an obsession so I fit right in.

When I’m not pruning privet or watering wisteria, I stay active in Charleston society. Not only am I a member and past president of the garden club, I help out where I can with community activities and church volunteering. So I have a pretty good handle on what’s happening in town.

Some call me a socialite but that doesn’t really suit. In this town, you have to have old money, and old family, to measure up to the social elite. My husband Harley and I came up in Charlotte and earned our own way so we don’t really qualify.
Here around home, most folks call me Aunt Ruby because they know me through my big shot nephew. Although I have to say, my husband Harley is no slouch and young Max wouldn’t have had a foot in the door if not for his uncle. Without Harley’s help, he wouldn’t have the million dollar race team or the fancy beach house. Not that Max is ungrateful, but I’m just saying.

Speaking of Max, his story is the biggest news lately. You know he met just a honey of a girl, Sarita Santos. Now don’t get me wrong, she has a background that makes even my sailor husband blush, but that girl’s turned her life around.

Anyway, rumor has it Dianne Miley has written her next story about Sarita and my Max. Isn’t that just too exciting? The story begins in Crystal Falls, Ohio, but Sarita and Max are coming right here to Charleston. I can’t wait to read their story! Although the circumstances that bring them here make me shudder just thinking about it. The danger Sarita’s daughter is in… that dear, sweet child.

But I won’t ruin the story. You’ll just have to read the book to find out what happens. I know, I know. It’s not in print yet, but Dianne’s working on that, I assure you. And if you sign up for her FREE newsletter, you’ll be the first to know as soon it’s available.

More good news! A little birdie told me Dianne has already written several chapters of the next book in the Charleston series, Jasmine for Jessica. One day Sarita wakes up to find her niece Jessica sleeping on the veranda. I suppose the youngster couldn’t resist the lure of sun and sand, but I wonder what she was really running away from…

I hope Dianne writes quickly so we can find out. Meanwhile, I heard she has a new contest where you could win one of the Crystal Falls books - autographed, no less! See her CONTEST PAGE where you’ll find details on the EVERYONE WINS contest. Truly, everyone can win. And never fear, you can always buy the books you don't win. The BOOKS PAGE has a direct link. Isn't that convenient?

According to the LATEST REVIEWS, you should love them.

Now keep your eyes peeled for that release of Sunflowers for Sarita. Sneak back soon, because this is the place to get a peek inside the garden gate.

Affectionately,

aunt ruby
